Eric Schmidt, the boss of Google, says
that the contribution of Google to the Britain economy is more important than
paying a fair share of taxes. Several politicians do not agree with this
opinion, and ask Minister president Cameron to consider firing Eric from his
role as a government advisor.
An
anonymous government source says that Google is not that important to Britain
as it looks like: “what they are actually investing in Britain is pretty
unsubstantial.” Besides that, it is obligatory for companies that make profits in
the UK pay a fair share of the profits in tax.
I think
that Eric Schmidt is wrong with his statement that the investments of Google in
the UK are so big, that the company has to pay less tax. Everyone, citizens and
companies, has to pay a fair share of tax, so Google has to pay that fair share
too.
